About HiPP German HA Stage 2

HiPP HA German Hypoallergenic Stage 2 Combiotic Follow-On Formula is tailor made to help babies who suffer from sensitivity to cow’s milk protein, such as skin problems, hay fever-like symptoms, and digestion problems caused by ingredients in other baby formulas. HiPP HA German Stage 2 is suitable for babies aged six months and older, and can be used on its own as a breast milk substitute, or as a replacement to breast feeding.

How is this formula made to by hypoallergenic? HiPP HA Stage 1 contains long chain milk proteins that have been hydrolyzed into smaller pieces, excluding casein from the cow’s milk. Smaller whey protein is easier to digest, and therefore has a lower risk of adverse reactions to allergenic ingredients found naturally in milk. Since the hydrolysis process makes milk less viscous, for improved consistency, a small amount of starch has been added in order to keep the formula from being too runny. Because HiPP HA Stage 2 is based on cow’s milk, it is rich with lactose in the same way that breast milk is.

This all natural formula has naturally occurring omega-e and omega-6 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, including AA and DHA, which are essential in the development of brain and eye tissue. Similar to natural breast milk, HiPP HA Stage 2 also contains probiotics and prebiotics, which helps develop a baby’s gut microbiome.

HiPP HA German Stage 2 is free of any soy, corn syrup, sugar, GMO’s, artificial sweeteners, or synthetic preservatives. This formula is a natural transition from HiPP HA German Stage 1 or HiPP HA German Stage PRE.

Hipp Formula Copmany works directly with HiPP in Germany to deliver fresh baby formula that has a long expiration date of six months or more. Each shelf-stable box of HiPP HA German Stage 2 contains 600 grams (21.2 oz) of formula powder, which yields approximately 130 fluid ounces of prepared formula.

Why is this formula not organic? HiPP HA German Stage 2 contains hydrolyzed milk proteins, which cannot be certified as organic because they aren’t available in organic form. All other ingredients in HiPP HA German Stage 1 are organic.

HiPP HA German Stage 2 is a specialty formula that is designed to be gentler than other formulas but may not be suitable for babies diagnosed with a protein allergy. How much HiPP German HA Stage 2 should you buy? The estimate for how many units of formula you’ll need is based on an assumption that baby formula is the primary source of nutrition within your baby’s diet, and takes into account HiPP German HA Stage 2 packaging and scoop sizes, as well as the HiPP’s recommended dosage at each age. Unless stated “per month”, the calculation is a total for the entire age bracket. On average, a typical baby uses 3.5 boxes of HiPP German HA Stage 2 per month, when fed using HiPP’s feeding instructions. If you supplement with breast milk or other foods, your calculation may be different. Always follow your pediatricians advice for feeding instructions that are unique to your baby.

HiPP HA Stage 2 Formula Mixing Instructions

  Sterilize

  Begin by washing your hands and sterilizing your equipment and workspace. In order to kill off any residual bacteria that may be in your water, boil 1 liter of water and leave it to cool for up to 30 minutes.

  Check Feeding Chart

  Read the feeding chart relevant to your specific formula. Depending on your baby’s age, add the corresponding water and formula ratios. Use the formula scoop provided inside of your box so as to ensure accurate measurements.

  Prepare

  Close the bottle with a sterilized cap and shake vigorously until all formula powder has been dissolved and no lumps remain. We recommend placing a nipple cap over the bottle top so as to avoid touching it with your hands.

• 04

  Check Temperature

  Baby formula is ready for feeding when it reaches body temperature (~98°F). You may cool the formula in the refrigerator in order to reach this desired temperature, and you can test the formula on your forearm to make sure it isn’t too hot. Use the formula immediately after preparation.

Important Feeding Information

• Each baby formula uses different mixing proportions. Only use the scoop that is included in your formula.
• Only add water and scoops at the ratios intended by the manufacturer. Do not supplement the milk feeds with any additional ingredients.
• Do not prepare feeds in advance. In order to maintain maximum nutritional value, use the feeds immediately and dispose of any leftovers feed.
• Once prepared, feed should be used within 2 hours if stored at room temperature. Bottles cooled with a cold ice pack should be used within 4 hours. Refrigerated bottles may be used for up to 24 hours.
• Microwaves heat unevenly! Do not microwave prepared feeds as heat spots may occur.
• Once opened, formula should be used within 21 days. Any unopened formula should not be used after the expiration date printed by the manufacturer on the box.
